Tonight was our ward party, and I was in charge of the Primary children acting out the nativity. I spent a good part of the day, not to mention quite a bit of time these past two weeks getting ready for this. I spent several hours preparing food for the potluck, finding 40+ costumes, making assignments for the main parts, preparing the script, etc. In all of the rush, I forgot to bring a baby Jesus. What is a nativity with the Christ child? Thankfully, we found a cat in the nursery that we wrapped in a blanket and delivered to Mary a little late. This caused me to reflect on how I am celebrating the season, and if I may be forgetting again, the focus of it all.

This is hilarious. I can't believe that cat didn't run off in the middle of the show.

Rick and Brooke said that the program was wonderful. I feel guilty giggling about a Baby Jesus kitty, but it is really funny. See how resourceful you are under pressure. I wish I could have seen it. Give everyone a hug from me.

Oh my heck I will be laughing at that for awhile! That is so awesome!!!

I have to say I have had similar feelings about trying to enjoy the season and not getting so caught in the busy mess. I would like to think I am doing better at it.
